Property Description


We have traveled extensively and collected the best ideas at the accommodations where we stayed. When we built and outfitted "The Annex," we included all those ideas. Pairing them with guest suggestions results in a cozy and convenient home away from home. The furnished cottage is in downtown historic Point Richmond, set back from the street with a native plant garden between it and the sidewalk. Sit in the afternoon on the patio in the shade of the oak tree or on the porch in the sun. Enter and there are skylights, tile floors and high ceilings. There is a computer alcove with high speed internet.

When you stay here, you have the opportunity to be "green." All the appliances are energy efficient. There are reminders to save water and energy. And you can recycle and compost with the local sanitation company.

ALSO AVAILABLE: A furnished studio apartment for three-night minimum @ $125/night. Discounts the longer the stay. E.g., $1,800/month @ $60/night. It has many of the same amenities as the cottage Do ask about the studio if that is all you require.

Within short walking distance are all the necessary services such as restaurants,cafes and pub, grocery stores, post office, and library. There is even a live theater! Our local indoor heated swimming pool, "The Plunge," is newly restored and open for business. Walk up the hill and see the bay with three- bridge view encompassing Berkeley, San Francisco and Marin. Because Point Richmond has its own downtown, it has special events on a regular basis. From May through October there's a Farmers Market. Also, there are music concerts most of the year. Once you arrive, you never need to leave!

This unique village in the East Bay is centrally located and convenient to Berkeley, Oakland, Orinda, Vallejo, the wine country, Marin County, and San Francisco. It is the community closest to Chevron and Vertigo Software. Pixar, Bayer, and Industrial Light and Magic are near, too.

Accessible hospitals are Kaiser, Doctor's, Alta Bates and Children's. Schools of higher learning such as Contra Costa College, UC Berkeley, and Dominican University are with a 20 minute drive. Travis Air Force Base and Coast Guard stations are in the vicinity.

The cottage has easy access to the Richmond San Rafael Bridge, Hwy 580, 80 and the Richmond Parkway. The Richmond BART station is accessible by bus as is downtown San Rafael. BART connects to many Bay Area cities. Both San Francisco Int'l Airport and Oakland Int'l Airport serve this area.
