Property Description


This custom-designed and custom-built home is a subtle blend of a California and a New England beach house. The house is built of the finest quality materials, fixtures and fittings, with exceptional views of Lake Berkeley from all floors.

Main Level - 1st Floor
The main level is an open plan design with the Great Room and Entrance Hall extending to 20 feet high. The Great Room has French doors that open onto a broad deck overlooking the lake. The Great Room has a custom-designed, hand-made oak mantle, a slate fireplace and built-in shelving with cabinetry.
The large Custom Kitchen has granite countertops, tumble stone tile backsplashes, cherry cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a large central island with a prep sink. Added to that, are two large-capacity convection ovens, a built-in microwave/convection oven and a five burner stainless steel cook-top with a stainless vent hood. The kitchen also has a great view of the lake. Ceiling heights in the kitchen and dining rooms are 10 feet.
The Dining Area opens lakeside to a screened, outdoor dining and sitting area which provides access to a side deck for a grill, with steps to the Terrace level and the lake.
The Master Bedroom, on the main, has 10 foot ceilings with extended coving and French doors that open to a lakeside screened porch. The master bedroom has awesome views of Lake Berkeley and has its own linen closet. The master bedroom closet is completely fitted and is large enough to serve as a dressing room.
The Master Bath consists of a large Jacuzzi whirlpool tub and a separate oversized shower with beveled glass doors and seat. The vanity is custom-built with granite tops. The very best quality fixtures are used throughout.
A Powder Room with a pedestal sink, Coat Closet and a Kitchen Office with built-in cherry desk, Pantry, Utility Room with easy access to the garage round out this level. Bamboo floors are throughout the main and terrace levels.
Upper Level
The broad stairway to the upper level leads to a large gallery area and consists of an east and west wing, connected by a walkway which has views of the lake.
The west wing of the house is self-contained and was designed as a Second Master Bedroom Suite. There’s a large deck off the bedroom, overlooking the lake. The bathroom has a large Jacuzzi whirlpool tub, shower and linen closet. A large living room completes the suite. This area can also be utilized as the perfect Teen or In-Law Suite.
The east wing has two bedrooms connected by a Jack and Jill bath and a large linen closet. Bedroom # 1 has fabulous views of the lake from a private deck and a large walk-in closet. Bedroom # 2, with a tray ceiling, is currently a workout/guest room and faces the front of the house.

Terrace Level (lower level)
The terrace level, with nine-foot ceilings, consists of a large open area and has a Fifth Bedroom or an Office Suite. The room has a tray ceiling. The terrace level also includes a Custom Built Bar, a Home Theatre and an Additional Office. Two sets of French doors open to a deck with direct access to the lower lakeside decks, boat house and boardwalk on the shores of Lake Berkeley. There is also considerable storage space on this level.

Garage
The house includes an attached Two Car Garage, with concreted parking area that easily accommodates two additional vehicles. Six to eight vehicles can be accommodated when entertaining.

An Arts and Crafts/Gardening Room is located off the garage and is environmentally controlled.

Property
The property is one half-acre and has one hundred and fifty feet of lakefront. At the west end of the property line is a boathouse and slip, which is large enough to accommodate a good size pontoon boat. At the other end of the property, there is a fishing dock with a swimming ladder. A boardwalk connects the two, with a large lakeside lower deck that has built-in seating.

Each room is wired with telephone, two CAT-5E cables for networking and two RG-6 coaxial cables for TV/video distribution.

There are numerous motion-sensor lights on the perimeter of the house and there is lighting and power at the dock and lower deck areas.

The main deck off the great room, as well as the dining area deck, has outdoor speakers with separate volume controls.

For added security, there are webcam hookups at three strategic locations on the perimeter of the house.
