5 Low Cost Mirror Tricks for a Amazing Modern Executive Furnished Rental Bathroom

By Kerrie Kelly, ASIDExecutive Furnished Rental BathroomA well-placed mirror gives a bathroom sparkle and a bright, open feeling, essential to set the tone for your day without breaking your bank. As designers, we use mirrors in many different ways, but none are as important as the way they are placed in a bathroom. The size, shape and orientation of the mirror makes the most of a room’s natural light, enhances views, opens up a small space and adds a boost of style to already-placed decor. Here are some of our favorite ways to incorporate mirrors into modern design.

1. Full-Length Mirror

In a modern setting, nearly anything goes. Create a cool and contemporary bathroom with the addition of a full-length mirror. Placing the mirror in an optimal spot, like between two windows or near a bay of natural light, tricks the eye into thinking the room is larger than it might be in reality. By either casually propping a full-length mirror against a neutral wall or framing and hanging it, you can create a bathroom that is bright, stylish and totally unique.

2. Fabulously Framed Mirror

Builder mirrors can be the kiss of death for a beautifully designed bathroom. Instead, frame your mirror with wood for added warmth. Adding a wooden frame creates an instantly homier vibe in the bathroom, a space that is normally absent of color and texture. The key to creating an earthy vibe is to choose a mirror that looks as if it belongs in a room other than the bathroom, like a warm master bedroom or bold living room. Once you’ve placed your mirror, keep accessories and hardware neutral so all eyes are focused on the frame.

3. Mirror as the Wall

Keeping with the modern theme, consider outfitting a smaller space’s wall with one or several large mirrors. By installing a larger-than-life mirror, you sneakily suggest there is more space than meets the eye. Take it a step further and place a console or chest in front of it for a subtle but very glamorous effect.

4. Sunburst Style Mirror

A recent trend that we’re loving is the sunburst mirror. Flashy yet sophisticated, a sunburst mirror adds just the right amount of drama to the bathroom without taking away from the design as a whole. Place one above the vanity to instantly uplift the decor around it, or hang one on a big blank wall as a super-stylish focal point.

5. Sharp and Shapely Mirror

The bathroom is known for medicine cabinets and run-of-the-mill rectangular or square mirrors. Pack a punch by opting for a circular configuration instead. A rounded style is the greatest departure from the expected. By breaking up angles and lines, the mirror’s curves breathe new life into the space. Add simple accessories like greenery and linens to keep the space feeling fresh and organic.
