Bathroom in Corporate House Though not traditionally viewed as the most glamorous room in the home, the bathroom has become a personal oasis—a haven for health, beauty and general rejuvenation. Privacy, comfort and a bit of surprise can help take a bathroom from simply functional to high design. To truly make your bathroom space stand out, we suggest adding some awe-worthy accessories.

Medicine Cabinet

Medicine cabinets often sit behind the vanity mirror, providing extra storage in a convenient location. Consider dressing them up with trim, paint or special hardware. Or, install an antique wall-hung cabinet that might have graced a hall or entryway. For added function, choose a medicine cabinet with built-in lighting for swiping on your mascara bright and early in the morning!

Mirrors

Mirrors, too, can be simply utilitarian or great style elements. If you have two sinks, adding an individual framed mirror over each will give your room a more updated and upscale image. To set your bathroom apart, consider a mirror with a specialty frame, whether it’s made from branches, bringing in a natural look, or colorful gems glued around the edge for more glamour.

Hardware

Hardware (think towel bars, drawer pulls and doorknobs) can seem like a small detail, but it can make a big impression. Match the hardware style to the style of your room, using such materials as polished nickel in a beach-inspired bathroom, wood in a traditional bath or sleek chrome on a contemporary vanity. For a child’s bath, add a touch of playfulness with bright colors or fun shapes.

Bath Towels

Add plushness to your bathroom scene with fresh, color-coordinated towels. Hung, wrapped, stacked or tossed, bathroom towels add softness, a pop of color and a lived-in touch to a space. Hang towels gently over a bar or stack them neatly in an open linen closet.

Shower Curtain

Whether for privacy or prettiness, shower curtains have the ability to transform a space. Choose a textured curtain for a modern bathroom to add balance, or one that is sleek and simple for a traditional bath. Go with rings and a rod that match your bathroom hardware, or mix and match for a funky vibe! Furnished Housing Bathrooms

Bath Mats and Rugs

More than just a safety precaution, bath mats and rugs add softness under foot and make for a cushiony landing after a steamy shower or bath. They also present a design opportunity. We love the way patterned bath mats look in an otherwise clean and contrasted space, or one that blends seamlessly into a tailored and traditional powder room.

Wall Details

For walls, paint is the fastest and most durable way to go. A neutral tone will tie the other elements together; a bold color will make a statement. Walls can also be finished with tile, wood or wood look-alikes, or wallpaper. Ceramic, porcelain, and glass tiles all work well, too, especially inside a bath or shower, and stone tiles are increasingly popular.

Faucets

Faucets should match the sink style and bath fixtures. Polished chrome is the most popular choice, but you’ll also find polished or burnished nickel, brass and bronze fixtures. Look for quality fixtures, with solid brass workings and ceramic disks.

Spa Essentials

Consider turning your master bathroom into a home spa, creating a tranquil space that nourishes your spirit. The feel of a luxurious retreat can be created by selecting simple plumbing fixtures, materials and accents drawn from nature. When creating a Zen bathroom space, reach for details like a soothing color palette, luminous glass tile, natural stone and a cozy chair or terry cloth-covered bench.

Artwork

Art isn’t only meant for a gallery wall or perched above the mantel! Choose a soothing piece of art to hang on any blank wall in your bathroom space. Opt for a piece that is framed and meant to be placed in areas that are exposed to heat and moisture. Some of our favorite bathroom art pieces are inspired by water or other natural elements to reinforce serenity within a luxurious design.
