The space:

The kitchen contains everything you need to cook with, and you'll find a coffee maker with coffee and sugar, which is perfect for sipping in the adjacent sunroom overlooking the large backyard garden. The front porch is perfect for taking a rest and enjoying the afternoon with your favorite beverage.

The house itself, architecturally known as a worker's cottage, was built in 1911 in the "Dutch Colonial" style. Plenty of original detail preserved, including rich hardwood floors, tall ceilings, and Arts & Crafts style windows.

Location · Manager's home is located in Irving Park, Chicago, Illinois, United States. It takes 13-30 minutes to drive to O'Hare International Airport. It takes 24-68 minutes to drive to Chicago Midway International Airport.
Irving Park is a historic residential Chicago neighborhood, with lots of tree lined streets and old houses on large lots. It is located 8 miles to the northwest of downtown Chicago, and is easy to get to by driving, public transit, and bicycling. Nearby are a diverse group of restaurants, breweries, and parks.

Independence Park is 3 blocks away and hosts a bi-weekly Sunday farmer’s market from 9am to 1pm, June 10 - October 28. Play tennis, let the kids play at the huge new playground, or just take a walk around the park and historic surrounding neighborhood.

Walk 1.5 blocks to Tony’s and pick up any groceries or beer and wine you might need. Or skip cooking and grab a meal out one of the many restaurants that are within walking distance. There’s farm-to-table gourmet American food at Bread and Wine, and Chicago’s best barbecue at Smoque. There’s also plenty of Latin American, Asian, and Mediterranean places to explore that are within walking distance.

Windy City Playhouse, one of Chicago’s newest live theater venues, is a mile away. Grab a beer before or after the show at Old Irving Brewery, on Montrose, where you can play an indoor game of bags over pints of craft beer. A little further on Montrose is Lake Effect Brewing Company’s small batch operation, which you can tour on the weekends.

Getting around:

Train: It’s a 15 minute walk to the Blue Line and Metra trains, which get you to Logan Square (5 min.), Bucktown (10 min.), Wicker Park (15 min.), and the Loop (30 min.). It’s also a quick 20 min. ride to O’Hare.

Bus to Wrigley Field: See the Cubbies play by taking the Irving Park Bus and walking (30 min.). Or take , the Brown Line (15 min.), and Red Line (20 min.). Explore Chicago’s beaches by hopping on the Montrose bus and taking it all the way east (20 min.) to Montrose Beach.

Driving: The Kennedy Expressway (US 90/94) is 1 mile away. Elston is a nice alternative to the expressway to get to the Loop. Montrose (1 block north) and Irving Park (3 blocks south).

Biking: Elston Avenue has a bike lane you can take all the way downtown. Or take the Lawrence Ave. bike lane to the lakeshore. The closest Divvy bike share station is about 4 block away.
