My wife and I stayed in one of Marian's apartments from March to October, 2018. This came about as a result of a disaster that befell our home in the Fan in January of that year when the pipes froze and exploded, creating extensive water damage. This was an extremely stressful period for us, but Mariam's apartment, and her persona, provided just the comfort we needed. The apartment was first-rate - clean, comfortable and well-equipped. And it was about a 10-minute walk from my office at Virginia Commonwealth University. Mariam was quick to address any issue we had. In our distress, we benefited from her vast knowledge of Richmond, her advice, and her thoughtfulness. She was very kind to us. As African Canadians, we felt at home and relished Mariam's humor, humanity, and graciousness. What a delightful, knowledgeable and extraordinary host! We could not have asked for more. As world travelers, it was, for us, the best of experiences.

My extended family took over this entire home for a multi-day family reunion. The building is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. It was built in the early 1900s and has been lovingly restored by the owner. I learned that she was an art major in college, and it shows in her exquisite choice of colors and furnishings for each of the rooms. She has created a serene and relaxing atmosphere that would be ideal for a longer stay while visiting Richmond or to use as a stepping stone while preparing to relocate to the city. Not only would the apartment be a lovely place to stay, the hostess could tell you all about the city and its various neighborhoods while you look for a permanent home. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as my whole family did!

Loved having all fifteen of your family, ages five to ninety who came together from all parts of the country, renewed old friendships, made new ones. Made many happy memories.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The apartment was comfortable and tastefully styled, effortlessly striking that pinterest-level balance of minimalist luxury. My relatives were staying in the adjacent apartment, so I was blessed to spend time in both gorgeous spaces. Their unit had a different vibe, though equally serene - more of a classic southern hospitality aesthetic, brimming with warmth and abundance and impeccably curated antiques. My favorite part was the back yard: an enchanting garden, lush with vegetation, studded with twinkling lights and the occasional fairy perched on a cupped leaf. Whimsical without being kitschy or cluttered. A fire pit and fountain provide focus and a perfect spot to kick back and enjoy a peaceful moment with your loved ones. I felt restored by the end of my stay. Truly a home away from home. 10/10 would recommend.

Absolutely stunning property in the heart of the historic Fan neighborhood. We stayed for a family reunion and greatly enjoyed our time in this lovely house. The location makes for an easy walk to restaurants, grocery stores, bars and also jogging and strolling along the sites on Monument Avenue. The property was decorated with such care and attention to detail, and the beds and linens were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-appointed for cooking at home, though dining options abound in the immediate area. We had all that we needed!

Fantastic accommodations right in the heart of The Fan! We recently relocated to Richmond from out-of-state and were able to stay at this property while looking for a home and again upon arrival to Richmond during our move. Both times our stays were wonderful and we received a warm welcome each time from Marian. The location of the apartment is within walking distance to restaurants, shops, museums and all that Richmond has to offer. The accommodations are incredibly comfortable - a home away from home. We will use the apartment again and again when we need additional accommodations for family and friends.

We loved having you, especially since now you are our permanent Fan District neighbors! We love welcoming new families by providing completely furnished, simply-unpac-your suitcase-and-you-are-here, relocation accommodations. Moving from a familiar home to a new and perhaps unfamiliar one is never easy but we make every effort to assure that your first living in Richmond experience is as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

We loved it!!! Our son lives in Richmond so we were able to visit for the holidays and have Christmas dinner here in the fan. Our landlord was most accommodating - we felt as if we were in our own home -- so inviting. She even went out of her way to make certain we had a proper table cloth for Christmas dinner. Location is fabulous, walk to everything you would want. We brought our dogs with us and there is a wonderful park across the street. Will definitely go back next time we are in Richmond.

Any Mom who drives from Florida to cook Christmas dinner in Richmond for her coast-to-coast family deserves the very best! Loved having you all and expect to see you again next year.

My clients were moving to the fan and found themselves needing two nights in a hotel at the last minute. They were exhausted from the move out so I booked this room at a great rate and it was awesome. Totally like home! Multiple bedrooms and baths, living room, kitchen and dining room. They felt like royalty! It's wonderfully charming! Plus it's in a super location to walk to many of the favorite Fan restaurants. Marian, the inn keeper, is so sweet and always eager to make sure her guests have everything they need including ideas of things to do in RVA. If you are thinking of a stay in Richmond and want to experience the charm of The Fan and Monument Avenue - (one of the largest collections of historic Victorian homes in the country) this is the spot!!

An unusual find in the historic fan in that this apartment has it all: great location; across from park, easy parking, close to restaurants, museums, the VCU campus, shopping and best of all fine interior spaces that beckon light and your favorite guests to enjoy high ceilings, beautifully appointed spaces, and twin covered porches. We have lived and visited a number of Fan District apartments but this one is tops. The Landlord was promptly attentive to all our needs. A quiet and safe area in a unique urban setting. From its location it takes no longer than 10 minutes to get to any part of the Richmond metro area. We loved staying for the month of June 2017. Rob and Ginny
