Guests at the Captain’s Cottage have two of the most desired and happening neighborhoods New Orleans has to offer at their fingertips!

The Marigny offers neighborhood cafes, restaurants, live music venues, businesses and historic architecture, including many styles of Creole cottages, most of which date to the 19th century. Its "heart" is Frenchmen Street and Washington Square with half a dozen live music clubs and just as many restaurants in four short blocks. The Marigny, known for its bohemian nature, is home to many artists, musicians and local New Orleanians who thrive in the eclectic environment and enjoy a close-knit community.

Guests at the Captain’s Cottage also have quick access to the French Quarter which is just a short walk down or up the street (in either direction!) and across Esplanade Avenue! The historic French Quarter is world famous and the highlight of life in New Orleans. The Quarter is known for its exceptional restaurants, incredible “dives,” shopping, antique district, live music and dance clubs, famous drinks, street performers, artists, tarot card readers, mule carriage tours, beignets, festivals, Jackson Square, the French Market and the “Let the good times roll” attitude.
