This 2 story Victorian home was built in the late 1800's, and retains many turn of the century charms — with high ceilings, polished wood floors, wooden bannister stairway, and ornate fireplace mantles — but with relevant updates and remodels. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and a cozy bathroom. (Note that one bedroom is currently being used for owner storage, so only two bedrooms are being made available.) From the master bedroom there are valley views to the south and west, and a glimpse of the mountains to the east.
Downstairs is a dining and living room with fireplace; kitchen; laundry/mud room with loads of storage cupboards, utility sink and an extra freezer; toilet; and a separate office that opens out onto a private backyard. A single car garage adjoins the house at the end of a rose-lined driveway. An unfinished basement contains the furnace and hot water system, and also doubles as a cold storage.
The kitchen has a 5 burner gas range and oven, microwave, dual sinks and a triple cylinder undersink water filter.
The home has Google Fiber high speed internet/wifi with range extenders for whole house coverage. The office has desks, filing cabinets, printer and scanner, paper shredder. The home features a significant collection of original artwork, and retains a collection of some of our personal treasures for decoration.
Both front and back yards have patios and Adirondack chairs, and the back yard has grapes, cherries, peach and apricot trees surrounding a small lawn. The front yard has been a vegetable garden but is currently in transition to "wild-scaping."
There are security cameras on the front porch and garage, and time dated recordings can be accessed if any incidents need investigating. The exterior of the home was repainted 2 years ago following structural repairs and seismic retrofitting, and new front steps have just been installed.
The home is conveniently located on the eastern edge of downtown Salt lake City. Within several blocks are all major grocery stores including Smiths, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Natural Grocers and Sprouts. Public transport is at hand, with bus stops on the corner, and a light rail (Trax) station one block away. Salt Lake City International Airport is a 15 minute drive away, and very easily accessed.
Intermountain Healthcare has a hospital one block away, and very close by is the University of Utah, University hospitals and medical centers, the Fine Arts Museum and Natural History Museum, and Research Park. The Salt Lake area is also home to regional hubs for Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Delta, and Adobe among many others, and has strong showing of medical, bio sciences, and technology businesses.
The home is walking distance to Trolley Square and the trendy 9th and 9th business district with its great coffee, restaurants, vintage movie theater, yoga studio, and boutique stores. The Bonneville Shoreline Trail nearby is noted for walking and cycling. World famous ski resorts such as Alta, Snowbird, Deer Valley, and Snowbasin are within an hour's drive, as is Great Salt Lake.
We just had the wooden floors re-coated, carpets cleaned, and airducts cleaned, as well as a full-house deep clean. New pillows, linens, and towels are supplied.
