Ann Dooling, the Proprietress of Silverman House, is a retired RN. She also has spent some years as a legal secretary, and raised thousands of cashmere goats, working and teaching about cashmere and wool in a number of countries. She also founded a cashmere knitting company, and was the designer, wrote the patterns, dyed around 60+ colors, and oversaw 6 knitters. All this occurred in the lovely countryside of SW Montana. After she moved to Helena, while she kept the knitting business going for some time, she became a real estate agent, but decided to set it aside when the market crashed. She bought an historic Queen Anne Victorian in Montana’s capital city, and proceeded to renovate the entire home. This labor of love lent itself quite readily to offering its spare bedrooms as places of rest and repose. The Silverman House, built by Morris Silverman in 1892, is a grand home.
