I loved living in Michelle’s charming house for six months and wish that I could have stayed longer! The neighborhood is quiet and quaint, neighbors are friendly and you feel very at home. I was always able to find parking right in front of the house or the ferry station, which is also walkable. My roommate and I frequently hopped on the ferry when we wanted to hang out downtown and loved the walking trail by the house that goes along the river with incredible views of downtown. The neighborhood is fun to walk through and appreciate the colorful, historic houses with beautiful architecture. We felt close to everything in New Orleans and the drive to work downtown was quick and painless. The house has everything you could want and the beds were very comfortable. Michelle immediately responded to every need but she pretty much thinks of everything before you even have to ask. I believe that this house made our New Orlean’s experience complete and I would love to revisit someday!
My husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to stay in this cute place. It was a delightful 5-week stay. Michelle was very responsive and helpful. This shotgun style house is very nice and has all the amenities we needed. If you want to experience NOLA from a quaint neighborhood, this is the place! Algiers Point is just far enough away to be quiet, but walking distance to the Ferry and all the festivities that New Orleans has to offer.
I was very fortunate to find a place last minute like this while finding out I had to work over 4 months in New Orleans. Michelle and Dave's place is very accommodating. It has been renovated and furnished. I never had a problem with any of the appliances. The beds and couches are all comfortable. They supply extra towels and dishware if you had forgotten any. It was only a 4 minute bike ride to my workplace and a short walk to the levee. The ferry that takes you over to the city is not that much farther to walk to. I did not get to see and talk with many of my neighbors because of my work schedule but while passing by they were always kind and extremely friendly. I would have given Michelle and Dave a 5 star for their place but there were some things I personally did not like about the property. Parking is really horrible if parallel parking is not your forte. Sometimes, someone will take your spot or a neighbor may not leave enough space so you have to squeeze into a tight spot. There are also roosters that live nearby. I was normally out of the house by 6 in the morning but when I was home on weekends, the rooster will crow early morning. Other than those two things, I really enjoyed my stay there. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a homey place to stay while in New Orleans.
Michelle and Dave were an absolute pleasure to rent from. We were given detailed instructions and face timed them prior to our arrival and were able to find and access the home easily. The property is in wonderful condition and has every convenience you could need for a longer stay. There was a expertly organized binder that had all sorts of info we referenced during our stay (everything from garbage days to wifi to good local restaurants/gas stations/grocery stores). The neighbours were warm and the neighbourhood itself is quiet yet loaded with charm. I HIGHLY recommend renting if you are looking for a unique New Orleans experience!
My wife and I enjoyed this absolutely charming house for five months. We loved it. It has everything one may need for a short term rental and more. 10 minutes to my courthouse in the Central Business District was great. Wonderful neighbors (predominately young professionals), convenient shopping and restaurants, and abundant parking. Michelle was on top of everything and we had no issues. I lived in New Orleans over 16 years and if you are looking for the true experience of New Orleans living, this is the place.
