The husband and I needed a centrally located place to temporarily live while we were staging and selling our Oakland home and looking for a new home. We were very comfortable at the Annex and while it was a stressful time, living at the Annex was very soothing. The surrounding garden was peaceful, all the kitchen amenities were at one’s fingertips and a separate desk with internet access was especially useful. Add to that - a fantastic location close to stores, restaurants and a pub plus the kindest host, and you have a perfect refuge. We lived in the Annex for 3 months.
Thank you Linda for providing this special temporary home!
My husband and I stayed at the Annex cottage for 4 months while on a travel nursing/PT assignment. This was a great place for long term stays. The cottage includes a spacious kitchen with ample amenities, productive desk setup with a nice ergonomic desk chair, cozy family room and bedroom with a king size bed and plenty of closet/shelf space. We looked forward to coming home from work to this clean, peaceful cottage in Point Richmond. We often used lemons from the lemon tree to cook and enjoyed the two outdoor spaces both in front and behind the cottage. There is plenty of restaurants, markets and nature in very close proximity to the cottage. We enjoyed running at Miller Knox park, the hiking trails with amazing views, going to Keller beach and looking at all the charming houses while walking in the neighborhood. Linda was a great host and responsive to our needs. We would highly recommend this cottage if looking for a place in this area! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
I stayed at the Annex for more than two years while working on a project at Chevron. The cottage was clean and nicely decorated and came with a full size fridge and range/microwave adequate for everyday living needs. The television is “not smart”, but with the use of the cottage wi-fi, subscription(s) can be accessed (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.). Off street parking is included in the rental fee.
Point Richmond is a quaint town and most of your daily needs are walkable. The location is convenient and I always felt safe in my surroundings. The cottage is in a quiet historic neighborhood with two small markets, pharmacy, post office, library and shops. A short walk up the street is a waterfront park complete with a mile-long walking loop around a pond and great views of the bridges, Oakland, and SF. There are also a couple miles of hiking trails in the hills nearby.
To summarize: The Annex Cottage is perfect for a stay in the bay area, everything you need is either there or easily accessible. I highly recommend and would definitely stay again. I consider Off Street Parking, Washer and Dryer in the Unit and Wi-Fi a plus for this property.
Have stayed here many times and it feels like a second home. The setup is perfect for 1 person with plenty of room to get organized and put things away. The owner thinks of everything from fresh flowers upon arrival to freshly ground coffee. I love the location. I have it booked for 2 more months in the fall. I hope to be a regular for some time.
Who would have thought that a 550 square foot house would be soooo perfect! It was our home for 2 months and from the terrific landlord to the amply supplied kitchen to the well-appointed EVERYTHING, we were most comfortable and lacked for nothing. (And, very importantly, the bed was a gem.) It rarely took us longer than 30 minutes to get to the Duboce Park area of San Francisco (longer in rush hour) and a 10 minute walk from the house was rewarded with views that stretched from the bridges Bay to Golden Gate. A great spot for lap swimming (and water aerobics) was at the Plunge, just 3 blocks away.
In someone else's review, they said that after staying here they were motivated to make their own home more welcoming and organized. We feel the same way!
Thanks for a great stay!

Our Family had another wonderful stay this past Winter. The cottage always inspires us to make our own home as welcoming and immaculate! Great town, with shops and restaurants all within walking distance. They have not one but two markets, just a throw's stone away. Especially handy if you want to cook at "home". If we could live here forever we would, so in the meantime, we'll just keep coming back! Highly recommended and wonderful owners.
Wonderful stay! Cozy, beautifully maintained, peaceful, within a few blocks of a surprising range of restaurants in a quaint village setting. Plus easy access to all the Bay Area bridges and cities. Could not recommend it more highly.
This is a superb rental. My wife and I stayed 70 nights in an extended grandparent visit. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. There are privacy and quiet in a delightful historic community. It truly felt like home. The Newtons are perfect hosts. Unobtrusive and attentive. The space is immaculately maintained. Two small markets are steps away. A municipal indoor heated swimming pool and toddler playground are nearby. Our grandson loved them. So did I. Easy access to I-580 and I-80 and the great shopping in Emeryville.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage for a second time! Can't say enough of the beauty and charm of this very comfortable place. Everything we could need was provided. We just love it, and highly recommend the cottage as the best place to stay in Point Richmond!
Reviews
My experience at The Annex Accommodations was excellent.
We had a seamless check in process and arrived to our spotless and tastefully styled lodging with a selection of local foods. The owners are both helpful and kind and made our stay the restful experience we had hoped for. The location is peaceful and quiet but with easy access to Marin, Berkeley and Oakland, and San Francisco.
A perfect place to stay for anyone in the Bay Area for short-term or long-term work. Do I recommend? Absolutely!
