Hillcrest Condo in the Heart of It All - 7255

Overview

Description

This 657 sq. ft. 1-bedroom fully-furnished and air-conditioned condo is in the heart of San Diego's safe and people-friendly Hillcrest neighborhood. Available for monthly (or longer) rentals only, it is an easy walk to restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and several supermarkets, as well as to Balboa Park including the world-famous San Diego Zoo. San Diego's Medical Area is close by and the condo is a favorite for medical professionals who need to be close to the hospitals. Full of morning light, it has a beautiful view of the mountains to the east.

The condo is centrally located, just a five-minute drive from downtown San Diego, the Convention Center, Petco Ballpark and the charming Gaslamp Quarter. It's a ten minute drive from the airport, and fifteen minutes from the beach and SeaWorld. It's also one block from four major bus lines, giving access to all parts of the city. This condo is tastefully appointed with quality furnishings and is ideal for the business traveler on an extended trip who wants something more personal than a hotel, as well as for those working at the nearby Medical Centers in Hillcrest and Mission Hills. There is a large work desk, with desk chair for professionals who choose to work remotely as well. It has high-speed internet/WIFI, HD cable television w/ BluRay player, heat, A/C, hot water, and comes with a utilities allowance. Longer stays (1 month or more), are easier to secure far in advance. High season (June-September) is always in demand, so please plan ahead to ensure your reservation. For the vacationer, it is convenient to all major attractions, making it perfect for a stay in 'America's Finest City.' Please note: This apartment is PET-FREE, so if you are allergic to animals, this apartment would be a great option for you. Security Deposit is $1250.00 for rentals of >30 days. If you are renting for only 1-month, the security deposit is $500, so be sure to ask about the deposit when inquiring about the condo. Security deposits are generally returned, minus $150 cleaning fee, within 14 days after termination of tenancy. Discount is available for those who reserve for tenancies of longer than 3 months (excluding high-season). We want to be accommodating, whenever possible, to ensure that you have a pleasant stay at the condo.

The bedroom has a queen-sized iComfort bed with foam pad for added comfort and its own flat-screen television and BluRay player. There is an Roku TV module with YouTubeTV for tenants to use to access their own streaming service(s) while staying here. There is plenty of closet space for even those who travel with lots of clothes.

FYI: Hillcrest is extremely welcoming and supportive of the LGBT community, and the condo is minutes away from its community center, nightspots and clubs.

Work, pleasure, or a mix of both. I highly recommend this apartment because of it's comfort, layout and location. In addition I found the Michael, the owner to be very responsive and hospitable. The "heart of it all" definitely describes the location. The neighborhood is vibrant and friendly, with anything one could possible need. It's proximity to Balboa park and its accessibility to all of the cool things in San Diego make it ideal. The apartment itself was very warm and inviting with comfortable appointments and a nice workspace. I thought it definitely delivered what is advertised. A daily treat was to wake up in the morning, walk out to the living room and be able to see the mountains in the east. Saw some beautiful sunrises! .Finally I really appreciated MIchael, the owner. He met me when I arrived and gave me a thorough orientation to the unit and the complex, in addition to providing information about the neighborhood and its goings on. I also appreciated him checking in to make sure I was settled and had every thing I needed. It was a great experience!

It's always a bit of a gamble when booking site unseen, but rest assured what you get with this place is exactly what is described. If you choose to book this way it must be because you're tired of the usual hotel fare and crave home comforts---that's exactly what you get here. Everything you could need is within easy walking distance and if you don't like to walk you can take very accessible public transportation or (as we did) rent bikes and ride everywhere, even the beaches (beware there are manageable hills to endure on the return). We had no car and never needed it. The condo is clean, well equipped and the pictures are truly reflective of it's comfort and space. Bob is a great host and a font of information. He was very patient and generous with his local knowledge. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for a couple or single person visiting San Diego for business or pleasure. It's a great place to make you feel like San Diego is your home. Thanks, Bob, for all your help and making our stay so comfortable!

This was my first experience with condo rentals and my wife and I were very satisfied with the property. Our host was extremely accomodating considering we booked at the last minute. Bob provided us with a guide offering suggestions on attractions, restaurants, directions to the different beaches and a list of grocery stores and even the Hillcrest Farmer's Market on Sundays (highly recommended). The listing was accurate and the condo was nestled in a very quiet complex in the middle of everything. The condo was equipped with everything we needed as far as cooking, washing, and spending the night in to watch a movie. The World Famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park were a short 15 minute walk from the condo. We did not take the bus as the weather was incredible. We spent time in Ocean Beach and La Jolla which were no more than a 20 minute ride (sans traffic). As for recommendations for future visitors check out Ritual Tavern in the neighborhood, Extraordinary Desserts (we visited twice) on 4th Street, Hash House A Go Go. Take some time to visit Ocean Beach and try the fish tacos at South Beach Grille. If you're there on Sunday, the Hillcrest Farmer's Market is a short three block walk from the condo. For those adventurous types, check out Manahue Surf School for lessons at La Jolla Shores. Oveall, I would highly recommend this property to friends and family. We really felt like locals by the end of visit and are looking forward to going back! Again, great host and a fantastic property! Thanks, Bob!

I agree with previous comments regarding location, proximity and accomodating owner. Condo has recently been renovated and is beautifully (and comfortably) decorated. I was impressed with cleanliness of the condo as well as the quality of linens and kitchen items. Parking is convenient and easily accesible.

We stayed in this apartment over Christmas and had no complaints at all. It was very clean, plenty big enough for two, and looked just like the photos here. The view out of the combined living room/kitchen to North Park and beyond was great. The kitchen was well-equiped, and we easily cooked a couple of meals. The dishwasher was very handy! The wifi was fast and never went down. The apartment sits more or less on the border of Hillcrest and North Park. Our hire car was useful for the larger shopping malls, but at night we just headed out on foot, as far as 5th to the west and 30th to the east. We walked to the zoo, which took about 25 minutes. And we even walked to downtown on one occasion - it was easy getting the number 7 bus back. The owner's a lovely chap. Very welcoming. And he answered all our emails quickly. There's a lot of useful information and recommendations waiting for you in the apartment, so don't worry about turning up in San Diego having done very little planning! Yep, we'd very happily go back there.

A very nice condo in a wonderful area. Walking distance to Albertsons, which is a large grocery store. The condo was very clean and very comfortable. It was also nice at how secure it was and the private off street parking space was a plus. The condo is located close to the highway so it seemed everything was within 5 minutes. We loved it and would stay there again.
